Zulfiya Isroilova — the pride of our people, widely known simply as “Zulfiya” — was a distinguished poet, journalist, translator and active public figure. She was awarded the honorary title of People’s Poet of Uzbekistan.

Zulfiya became not only a celebrated poet, but also a symbol of Uzbek women. The State Prize named after her is awarded to support talented and active girls.

The poet was a laureate of the international Jawaharlal Nehru Award (1968) and Nilufar Award (1971), as well as the Hamza State Prize of Uzbekistan (1970).

One of the streets in Tashkent is named after the poet. In recognition of her immense contribution to the development of our national culture, the Government of Uzbekistan established the Zulfiya State Prize
